As of July 22, 2026, the country’s power system is operating normally, with no overloads or emergency disruptions reported.

The ministry added that scheduled maintenance work on power grid facilities continues as part of preparations for the upcoming autumn and winter season.

Schedules for planned maintenance outages are available on the website of the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan (NENK) and through the My Light mobile application.

The ministry also urged residents to use electricity rationally, especially during peak demand hours, in order to maintain the stability of the power system.

Earlier, temporary power outages were introduced in several districts of Bishkek and Chui region due to heavy load on the electricity grid.

According to NENK, exceptionally hot weather across Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, pushed electricity demand to record levels. Power grid equipment had been operating under maximum load, with some transmission lines exceeding their design capacity.

Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov previously said that daily electricity consumption reached a new all-time high of 50.1 million kilowatt-hours on July 19, 2026. On the same date last year, consumption was 18 percent lower, at 42.5 million kilowatt-hours.
