The parties discussed the practical implementation of previously reached agreements, including citizenship issues for residents of the exchanged territories, their resettlement, property, economic, and other matters.
The Kyrgyz part of the commission is headed by First Deputy Minister Kamchybek Dosmatov, and the Uzbek part is headed by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan B.B. Kudratkhodjaev.
Following the meeting, the composition of the joint working group was approved, which includes representatives of relevant ministries, departments, and local authorities of the two countries.
The group will address issues of citizenship for residents of the exchanged territories, resettlement arrangements, the acceptance and transfer of state property, the registration of citizens’ property rights, land use, and social protection of the population. Continuity of education for residents of the affected territories will also be ensured.
The working group has already begun its practical operations. Its representatives will conduct site visits to the land-swap territories and regularly update the co-chairs of the commission on their progress and results.
