According to the center, the pilot microgeneration development project is being implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The solar power plants have completed all stages, from design and technical assessment to grid connection, installation of bidirectional meters and signing electricity sales agreements.

The first facilities have already begun supplying electricity to the grid. The plant in Tash-Dobo has supplied more than 2,500 kilowatt-hours, while the facility in Archa-Beshik has generated over 5,200 kilowatt-hours, most of which was fed into the grid.

The pilot project aims to test a mechanism for fully connecting solar power plants to the energy system in order to sell surplus electricity.

The preparation and connection of new facilities are also underway in Osh and Naryn region.

Microgeneration allows consumers to use solar energy for their own needs and feed surplus electricity into the grid. The experience gained through the pilot project is expected to be used to further develop distributed solar generation in Kyrgyzstan, the statement says.
