«Specialists are currently conducting a detailed analysis of tourist areas, including mountainous areas and Issyk-Kul region, in order to cover key locations with video surveillance,» he said.

According to Ruslan Sharshembiev, the large-scale expansion of the video surveillance system is being carried out at the direction of the president.

Ultimately, the total number of cameras in the country is planned to increase to 20,000.

Currently, over 4,000 cameras installed in public places are already operating online 24/7 through the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Situation Center.

Daniyar Saparbaev, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Public Security Service, added that new security standards are currently being implemented. In particular, the installation of integrated video surveillance systems has become a mandatory requirement during the design and construction of social facilities.

He emphasizes that the mere presence of cameras on facilities has a powerful deterrent and preventative effect on potential violators.
