Where the fish comes from and in what volumes

The geography of frozen fish supplies shows a high dependence on importers from Chile, Denmark, and Russia:

Kyrgyzstan also purchased 115 tons of fresh and chilled fish for $308,600 over the three months. Kazakhstan led the way, supplying 108 tons for $277,900.

Sales of fish products abroad remain significantly lower than imports. In the first quarter, Kyrgyzstan exported:

frozen fish to Russia: 280 tons worth $740,300;

fresh or chilled fish to Russia: 75 tons worth $194,000;

live fish to Kazakhstan: 35 tons worth $51,500.

The saturation of the domestic market with imported fish occurs against the backdrop of a persistent deficit in the country’s foreign trade. The volume of frozen fish imported (875 tons versus 280 tons exported) indicates the industry’s focus on domestic consumption.
