The event is permitted to be held in open public spaces only in the capital. In all other regions of the country, prayers will be held inside local mosques.
In recent years, festive prayers in the capital have been held exclusively in mosques due to security concerns. However, this year, authorities permitted the event to be held outdoors, and on March 20, the Ait namaz, marking the end of Ramadan, gathered nearly 100,000 people.
Kurman Ait is one of the most important Muslim holidays, symbolizing the end of the pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca. Traditionally, this day is marked by sacrificial rites, visiting relatives, and charitable giving to those in need.
Kurman Ait is an official holiday in Kyrgyzstan.
