It is located in the building of the Ministry’s Center for Employment Abroad.
The opening of the center is aimed at expanding citizens’ access to reliable information on safe, organized, and legal migration, as well as raising awareness about the risks of illegal migration, human trafficking, and other forms of exploitation.
In addition to outreach, the center’s staff will conduct pre-departure orientation for citizens, trainings, and events on safe labor migration, and interact with government agencies and local communities.
«The opening of the resource center will strengthen information support for citizens on safe migration issues and increase public access to reliable information and mechanisms for protecting the rights of migrant workers,» Deputy Minister of Labor Mirlan Baigonchokov said.
The event also included the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labor and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
This is the second resource center for migrants in the country. The first was opened in Osh on March 5, 2024. Since then, it has provided assistance to more than 21,000 citizens.
The center was opened as part of the PROTECT project, implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) with the support of the European Union. The Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labor is a partner in the implementation of this initiative in the Kyrgyz Republic.
