Property crimes accounted for 71 percent of the total. Investigators recorded 9,518 such cases. At the same time, the crime structure is changing: fraud increased almost 1.8 times (to 5,267 cases). At the same time, thieves and robbers have decreased their activity. The number of thefts decreased by 26 percent (3,058 cases), robberies by 24.2 percent, and extortion by 22.1 percent.

The Prosecutor General’s Office notes an alarming increase in crimes against the person— by 34.6 percent (1,526 cases). Statistics show a 2.1-fold increase in rapes (from 42 to 88 cases) and a 10.3 percent increase in cases of grievous bodily harm.

The number of murders decreased by 7.1 percent to 52 cases. In total, law enforcement agencies recorded 1,835 serious and especially serious crimes.

The number of economic offenses fell by 11.5 percent (693 cases), and drug trafficking crimes by 10.2 percent.

Batken region leads in crime growth.

Regionally, law enforcement agencies recorded the largest crime increases in Batken region (79.2 percent—602 crimes), Naryn region (40.5 percent—299 crimes) and the city of Osh (35.7 percent).

Over four months, law enforcers identified 7,700 lawbreakers, 66.2 percent of whom were neither employed nor studying.
