According to the ministry, the small and medium-sized enterprise sector has become the main pillar of the national economy, accounting for 50 percent of GDP in 2025.
The number of active business entities has reached nearly 500,000.
Kyrgyzstan has secured its position as one of the region’s technology hubs, officials said. The Creative Industries Park has become the world’s first specialized tax regime for the creative economy, covering 72 types of activities and 190 residents.
The High Technology Park now has more than 460 residents. In 2025, its revenue amounted to 17.1 billion soms (about $195.4 million), with 95 percent generated from IT service exports.
A significant breakthrough has been recorded in the digital economy sector.
The virtual asset market in Kyrgyzstan grew twentyfold in 2025, reaching a total turnover of 2.7 trillion soms.
By 2026, the market had been fully institutionalized: 220 licenses were issued to crypto exchanges, legal definitions for stablecoins, tokens, and a state cryptocurrency reserve were introduced. The minimum capital requirement for crypto exchanges was set at 300 million soms.
