According to the SCNS, during anti-corruption efforts, it was established that the director of the municipal enterprise Road Construction Department under the Kara-Balta City Hall, E.M.U., conspired with the city’s vice-mayor, K.A.U., to organize the illegal sale of sand and gravel mix and bitumen asphalt to private individuals.

According to the state committee, the building materials were sold to the detriment of the municipal enterprise and the local budget.

Following investigative and operational measures, both the director of the municipal enterprise and the vice-mayor of Kara-Balta were detained and placed in the SCNS detention facility.

Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all circumstances of the case and identify other possible participants in the corruption scheme.
