The large-scale power outage in Bishkek was caused by damage to the 110-kilovolt Parkovaya — Ala-Archa high-voltage transmission line.
According to the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan (NENK) OJSC, a HOWO cargo truck damaged the overhead power line between pylons No. 23 and 24.
As a result of the accident, part of the capital and nearby residential areas were left without electricity. Emergency repair and restoration work is currently underway.

Power engineers urge companies not to carry out work near transmission lines without observing established safety standards and regulations in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Earlier, a massive blackout affected a significant number of consumers in Bishkek and surrounding areas. Electricity supply is now being gradually restored.
