According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, the deaths are not related to infectious diseases.

The main cause was a sharp drop in air temperature. Preliminary data suggest that part of the sheep population, recently sheared, was moved to high-altitude pastures where the animals were unable to withstand the low temperatures.

To support livestock farmers, local authorities had prepared adequate stocks of fodder in advance. With the assistance of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, hay and other feed were delivered continuously to remote pastures.

The Veterinary Service stated that the epizootic situation remains stable and there is no threat of infectious disease outbreaks among animals.

At present, weather conditions in the syrt zone of Jeti-Oguz district have normalized, and the snow has completely melted. Carcasses of the dead animals are being transported to settlements using the same vehicles that delivered feed. They will later be disposed of in accordance with veterinary and sanitary regulations.

The situation remains under constant control of relevant government authorities. Shepherds on the pastures are receiving necessary assistance, while veterinary specialists continue monitoring animal health and carrying out preventive measures.
