The girls are originally from the Kyrgyz village of Kok-Terek in China and are descended from the Bugu tribe, the Aryk Myrza clan from Issyk-Kul. Riza is an equestrian and works as an instructor. For Gulsanat, this trip was her first visit to her historical homeland.
