Baketaev said the Kyrgyz side has repeatedly discussed the issue with representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

«We proposed that if there are any risks or suspicions, an international company should be appointed to conduct an audit. However, this proposal was rejected. They say there are certain signs of violations, but no concrete evidence is provided. Today, a company can be placed on a sanctions list, and our arguments are no longer taken into account,» he said.

The National Bank chief added that work in this area is currently being carried out in close cooperation with foreign partners. In addition, a special commission on sanctions risks has been established at the Cabinet of Ministers level.

Earlier, in May, the Kyrgyz authorities said that, as part of negotiations with Western countries, they were considering revoking the registration of companies potentially involved in sanctions evasion. Later, the Ministry of Justice announced the termination of registration for 50 companies whose activities had raised suspicions.

More than 30 companies from Kyrgyzstan are currently included in sanctions lists imposed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

Western sanctions were imposed on Russia following the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, as well as on organizations and individuals suspected of facilitating the circumvention of these restrictions.
