«We live in an era when information spreads almost instantly, shapes public opinion, and influences international processes. At the same time, the modern information environment creates serious challenges alongside new opportunities. The need to protect national interests, combat misinformation, and address cybersecurity threats in the context of rapidly advancing technologies requires a responsible approach, close cooperation, and the development of joint solutions,» he said.

Mamatkanov noted that the forum provides a unique platform to discuss current trends in the media sector, the prospects of introducing innovative technologies, the role of digital platforms in modern journalism, as well as issues of professional responsibility and adherence to ethical standards in a rapidly changing information environment.

He expressed confidence that through the exchange of best practices, development of professional contacts, and mutual respect, it is possible to build a «safe, fair, and sustainable information space.»

«This forum will be an important step toward consolidating the efforts of SCO member states in countering information threats, the spread of fake news, and other challenges of the digital era. Joint work by relevant institutions, the expert community, and the media will contribute to strengthening information security and increasing trust between our countries,» he added.

Mamatkanov also said that the Kyrgyz Republic consistently supports constructive cooperation in the media sphere, the expansion of interaction between journalistic communities, the introduction of modern digital solutions, and the strengthening of humanitarian ties between the peoples of SCO member states.

«I am confident that the results of the media forum will contribute to the further development of information cooperation within our organization, serve as a basis for new joint initiatives, and help strengthen an atmosphere of trust, good neighborliness, and mutual understanding.

Together we can ensure the formation of a healthy information space based on the principles of objectivity, responsibility, respect, and security. I wish all participants productive work, meaningful discussions, new professional contacts, and a successful forum,» Ulan Mamatkanov concluded.
