It was noted that the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ investigator was granted, and the former deputy was remanded in custody until June 30.

Duishon Torokulov is accused of committing a crime under Article 261, «Creation of or participation in an organized group,» Part 2, «Participation in an organized group,» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. This crime carries a prison sentence from five to eight years with confiscation of property. The Ministry of Internal Affairs had not previously reported his detention.

Duishon Torokulov, also known by the nickname Dushka, was a member of the 6th convocation of Zhogorku Kenesh from Bir Bol political party. In 2021, he was detained and accused of illegal takeover of a leather processing plant in Osh. The court later released him under house arrest and he returned to Parliament. The results of the investigation and the court’s decision have not been officially announced.
