This year’s June full moon will have several distinctive features. Astronomers note that the Moon will follow one of the lowest trajectories above the horizon during the year. As a result, during moonrise it may appear unusually large and take on golden, orange, or even pinkish hues due to sunlight passing through dense layers of the atmosphere.
The best time to observe the Strawberry Moon will be on the evening of June 29, low on the southeastern horizon just after sunset. If skies remain clear, it is expected to provide one of the most picturesque opportunities for night photography in 2026.
According to astronomical publications, the peak of the full moon will occur on the evening of June 29. The next full moon, known as the Buck Moon, is expected on July 29.
