According to the Ministry of Construction, construction of residential buildings up to five stories high is permitted on this land.

The President ordered work to begin without delay. He stated that the authorities are already abandoning the practice of allocating land plots for individual housing construction.

«I tell the heads of districts and aiyl okmotu: stop allocating land for the construction of private homes; it’s better to transfer it to the State Mortgage Company. We need to develop not outward, but upward,» Sadyr Japarov said.

As an example, he cited housing construction in Alay district, where more than three hectares of land have been allocated for the State Mortgage Company project. According to him, nine-story buildings are planned there.

«If these plots were allocated for private homes, about 50 families could live there. And multi-story buildings on the same territory could accommodate about 1,500 people,» the president noted.

He added that the government intends to more actively develop district centers and small towns, implementing multi-story housing projects not only in regional centers but also throughout the regions.
