He recalled that on April 14, 2026, the first successful living-donor liver transplant in a state-run clinic was performed under the supervision of Sergey Gauthier, Russia’s chief transplant specialist.

The donor in that first operation was the patient’s 20-year-old son.

«We met with them yesterday, and both patients are doing very well. The son is our colleague — he is active, studying, and doing well. The father is cheerful, continues farming, working, and driving. He visits us every 10 — 15 days for tests, and we continue to monitor his condition,» Tilekov added.

According to him, liver transplants are also performed in Osh, likewise in cooperation with Russian surgeons.
