The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience between the tax authorities of the two countries in the field of taxation, as well as to develop bilateral cooperation.

As part of the visit, Almambet Shykmamatov held a meeting with Head of the Revenue Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Finance Mikheil Maghlakelidze.

The head of the State Tax Service noted that the results of large-scale reforms implemented in Georgia to improve the efficiency of tax and customs administration serve as an important example of successful practice.

Mikheil Maghlakelidze expressed appreciation for the interest shown in the results of the reforms and emphasized the friendly relations between the two countries.

He also highlighted the similarities between the two nations as mountainous countries with significant potential in sectors such as tourism and agriculture.

Representatives of Georgia’s Revenue Service delivered a series of presentations introducing their Kyrgyz counterparts to the agency’s structure, implemented reforms, strategic development priorities, current legislation, as well as methodologies and approaches in analytical and operational activities.

Following the working visit, the tax authorities of the two countries signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and developing practical cooperation.

The document provides for broader exchange of experience, implementation of best practices in tax administration, and deeper cooperation in digitalization, analytics, and improving the efficiency of tax services.
