During a trip to Issyk-Kul region, the head of state was cycling along the lakeshore when he stopped to speak with fishermen. They complained that the cost of legal fishing was too high, with a daily permit priced at 630 soms.

After listening to their concerns, Sadyr Japarov immediately called relevant officials and instructed them to revise the payment system.

As a result, the 630-soms fee will now cover three days instead of just one. This effectively reduces the daily cost of fishing threefold, to 210 soms.

According to the fishermen, the decision will significantly reduce expenses for recreational fishing enthusiasts on Issyk-Kul Lake.

Following reports of the reduced tariff, many social media users expressed gratitude to the president. At the same time, fishermen urged authorities to consider another issue — revising restrictions on the use of inflatable boats on the lake. They say the current rules create difficulties for law-abiding fishing enthusiasts while failing to address the problem of poaching.
