According to the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, 17 cases of tick-borne infections were registered among the victims, including:

tick-borne viral encephalitis — 3 cases;

tick-borne rickettsiosis — 14 cases.

The highest number of reported tick bites was recorded in Bishkek (656 cases), Chui region (480), and Issyk-Kul region (334).

«The increase in tick bites in 2026 is likely due to an earlier seasonal increase in tick activity due to favorable climatic conditions, an expansion of their habitat, as well as increased public visits to natural and recreational areas,» the department said.
