The resolution approved a single tariff for one cubic meter:

water disposal (sewage) — 6.8 soms.

Currently, the tariff for the population is 10.45 soms per cubic meter of water and 3.45 soms for sewerage. That is, services will rise in price by almost 50 percent.

The following categories of consumers are set:

individuals (population), with the exception of individual entrepreneurs;

Other consumers, regardless of ownership structure or balance sheet classification, with the following subcategories:

1) Individuals and legal entities (including individual entrepreneurs), regardless of balance sheet.

2) Water-intensive consumers (bathhouses, saunas, car washes, slaughterhouses and other facilities whose activities are related to making a profit).

The use of increased coefficients is provided. It is expected that this will stimulate the rational use of water resources, as well as compensate for the increased load on infrastructure from commercial consumers.

According to the City Hall, a significant part of the engineering networks were built during the Soviet period and today are operated with a high level of physical wear and tear. In the context of intensive growth of the city’s population, expansion of its borders and increasing load on infrastructure, existing capacities and networks are working at the limit of their capabilities.

The current tariffs, according to officials, do not correspond to the actual costs of the enterprise.

The resolution was adopted in order to establish economically feasible tariffs for water supply and sanitation services, ensuring coverage of the actual costs of the municipal enterprise Bishkekvodokanal, as well as eliminating its unprofitability, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted operation of the engineering infrastructure.
