The parties also addressed issues related to strengthening interagency cooperation in the field of road safety.

It was noted that road traffic accidents remain one of the major medical and social challenges, leading to loss of life, disability, and a heavy burden on the healthcare system. Every year, medical professionals provide assistance to thousands of victims, while the number of injuries — including among e-scooter and moped users — continues to grow.

Jean Todt presented the UN’s international road safety initiatives, as well as modern solutions aimed at protecting road users, including a new affordable motorcycle helmet. He also spoke about global campaigns promoting the use of seat belts and helmets, adherence to speed limits, and prevention of drunk driving.

The parties also discussed preparations for the UN High-Level Meeting on Improving Global Road Safety, which will take place in the United States on July 20–21.

Damir Osmonov expressed interest in participating in the event and emphasized the importance of exchanging international experience.
