The company will be responsible for the operational management of the territory, infrastructure development, attracting and supporting residents, and implementing investment projects within the SFIT site.

Talantbek Imanov previously served as Director of the National Investment Agency and Minister of Digital Development. He is also currently the Mayor of Karakol.

In addition, the composition of the Tamchy Special Financial and Investment Territory Governing Council has been announced. Justice Minister Ayaz Baetov is its Chairman. Deputy Chairmen are Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov and CEO at Makara Capital Ali Ijaz Ahmad, who has experience at the World Bank, Morgan Stanley, The Carlyle Group, and Goldman Sachs.

It was previously reported that English law would apply within the Tamchy SFIT. An independent International Arbitration Center, operating according to international standards, will be established to resolve disputes. The institution will also have its own financial regulator and registrar.

Tamchy SFIT is being created to attract foreign investment and implement major international projects in Kyrgyzstan. It will operate as a special jurisdiction with a separate legal regime.
