According to the company, daily electricity consumption on July 19 reached 50.1 million kilowatt-hours, which is 18 percent higher than on the same day last year.
Due to the heavy load, power equipment is operating at its maximum capacity. As a result, temporary preventive outages have been introduced in some districts of Bishkek and Chui region.
The NENK assured that the duration of these outages does not exceed two hours.
The mass outages began after a power grid failure on July 17, when Bishkek, Chui region, and several other areas were left without electricity. The NENK said that the high-voltage transmission lines Kara-Balta — Glavnaya and Glavnaya — Shu were disconnected due to a failure, triggering an automatic grid load-shedding system.
Later, amid a sharp increase in electricity consumption caused by the heatwave and widespread use of air conditioners, power companies introduced temporary load regulation outages to prevent further failures and equipment damage.
