The president noted that borrowed funds are now allocated for specific projects, with their use being closely monitored.

«Unlike in previous years, every loan attracted today does not disappear without a trace,» Sadyr Japarov said.

According to him, projects financed through borrowed funds should eventually generate enough returns to ensure repayment of the invested funds.

The president added that in some countries public debt exceeds 100 percent of GDP, but Kyrgyzstan should not use such indicators as a benchmark.
