Under the new provisions, a criminal case cannot be terminated if its resolution requires a court decision confirming the defendant’s guilt. If such a case has already been terminated, it may be reopened.

The law also clarifies the procedure for cancelling preventive measures, temporary suspension from office, and other restrictions after the termination of a criminal case.

The amendments also affect military insurance. Under the new rules, insurance payments will not be made if death or injury resulted from a crime and the serviceman’s guilt has been confirmed by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
