According to the security services, during the criminal investigation, Kuvanychbek Kongantiev admitted his guilt and entered into a plea agreement. He voluntarily transferred 6,500 square meters of residential and commercial space in Royal Construction’s construction projects to the state.

Their total market value is $15 million, or 1,311.75 billion soms.

According to investigators, while serving as a member of the commission for granting rights to land plots at the Bishkek City Hall, Kuvanychbek Kongantiev abused his official powers to benefit himself and his affiliates by granting temporary land use rights to his relatives.

It was previously reported that the Leninsky District Court found former Zhogorku Kenesh deputy Kuvanychbek Kongantiev guilty of abuse of office and fined him 500,000 soms.

Kuvanychbek Kongantiev gave up his parliamentary mandate in March. The day before, a video appeared on social media claiming that he had registered his relatives as owners of real estate properties while serving as a Bishkek City Council deputy.

The day after his resignation, the former deputy was detained by the State Committee for National Security. The court sent Kuvanychbek Kongantiev to the State Committee for National Security’s pretrial detention facility, but in June, his pretrial detention was changed to house arrest.
