The village of Tash-Dobo has 466 residents, including 116 Kyrgyz citizens. A total of 207 people have submitted documents to obtain Kyrgyzstan’s citizenship.

The village of Tash-Dobo has 466 residents, including 116 Kyrgyz citizens. A total of 207 people have submitted documents to obtain Kyrgyzstan’s citizenship.

Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the presidential envoy to Batken region, met with local residents. The meeting participants addressed issues related to obtaining citizenship and processing the necessary documents.

Related news Residents of former Uzbek village to receive Kyrgyz citizenship The villages of Chon-Kara and Tash-Dobo, which previously belonged to Uzbekistan’s Fergana region, were transferred to Kyrgyzstan during the demarcation of the state border. They are predominantly inhabited by ethnic Kyrgyz.

In exchange for Chon-Kara and Tash-Dobo, Kyrgyzstan agreed to transfer equivalent land plots along the border to Uzbekistan.

President Sadyr Japarov announced the completion of the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border on January 27, 2023, during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Bishkek. Demarcation work continued thereafter.
