During the first six months of the year, the fund received 810.6 million soms from Kumtor Gold Company and another 125.2 million soms from revenue-generating projects. The financing plan for the first half of the year amounted to 1.438 billion soms, with implementation reaching 95.4 percent.

A total of 31.9 million soms was allocated for co-financing 15 projects and leasing specialized equipment. Another 104.4 million soms was provided to 21 entrepreneurs as a second tranche of interest-free repayable assistance.

Among the funded projects is a glamping camp in the village of Kerege-Tash, Ak-Suu district. The entrepreneur received 5 million soms in interest-free repayable assistance. The funds were used to purchase construction materials and equipment and set up a recreation area for tourists.

Another project is a modern garment workshop in Ak-Suu district. The entrepreneur received 4.5 million soms in interest-free repayable assistance to establish the facility. The workshop currently employs 10 people.

The fund noted that the number of applications for financing new projects exceeds the projected amount of available funds for 2026.

The Issyk-Kul Region Development Fund was established in 1997. Under an agreement, Kumtor Gold Company contributes 1 percent of its gross revenue to the fund. The funds are used for the socio-economic development of the region, including the construction and renovation of social facilities, tourism and infrastructure development, as well as support for entrepreneurial projects.
