The Internal Affairs Department of Osh region reported that the woman sought medical assistance on August 10 with bodily injuries. According to preliminary information, she had been assaulted by her 48-year-old husband.

The incident was initially registered by the Kara-Kuldzha District Police Department. The case was later transferred to the Uzgen District Police Department because the incident occurred within its jurisdiction.

The man was taken to the police station. The woman was referred for a forensic medical examination to determine the severity of her injuries. A decision will be made based on the examination results.

The number of domestic violence cases in Kyrgyzstan has been increasing year after year. Last year, the Interior Ministry registered nearly 20,000 such cases, 27.5 percent more than in 2024. In the first three months of this year alone, 6,621 cases were recorded, 44 percent more than during the same period last year.
