The meeting addressed the condition of existing landfills, the volume and composition of accumulated waste, the possibility of establishing a transfer station, and arrangements for transporting the waste to Bishkek. Officials also discussed current tariffs for waste collection and disposal, as well as creating conditions for waste sorting and subsequent processing.

Meeting participants assessed whether local governments will be able to pay for waste removal from the region, including from remote areas.

The waste processing plant’s capacity is planned to be increased to 3,000 tons per day by 2028–2029.

If waste removal from Chui region proves economically and technically feasible, this will reduce the number of illegal dumps, free up agricultural land, and improve the sanitary and environmental situation in populated areas.
