From January to June 2026, civil registry offices recorded 66,272 newborns, 0.6 percent more than during the same period last year, when 64,993 births were registered.

A total of 15,968 people died in the first half of the year, fewer than in 2025. As a result, natural population growth amounted to 50,304 people.

The highest rates of natural population growth per 1,000 residents were recorded in Batken region (18.2), Osh region (16.8) and Jalal-Abad region (16.1).

The lowest rate was recorded in Bishkek, at 7.6 per 1,000 people.

Bishkek and Osh led in population growth, with their populations increasing by 1.1 percent to 1,373 million and 490,300, respectively.
