According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the sides discussed establishing direct contacts between Sinopec and Kyrgyz companies, as well as supplies of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of more than 10 Kyrgyz companies operating in the oil sector.
«We included the heads of companies working with petroleum products in Kyrgyzstan in the delegation so that each entrepreneur could directly engage with partners and learn firsthand about the issues and opportunities. Kyrgyzstan is interested in increasing the volume of petroleum product supplies from China. This area has great potential and, I believe, represents a long-term direction for cooperation within the framework of trade and economic relations between our countries,» Erlist Akunbekov said.
Tian Hongbin, in turn, expressed interest in implementing previously reached agreements on joint projects and developing cooperation in new areas of the oil industry.
Working groups comprising representatives of government agencies and companies discussed issues related to the supply of fuel and lubricants to Kyrgyzstan, including transportation, customs clearance, trade turnover and other matters.

Kyrgyzstan consumes about 2 million tonnes of fuel and lubricants annually. Nearly 95 percent of this volume is imported from Russia. In recent months, Kyrgyzstan has faced difficulties with petroleum product supplies from Russia due to disruptions at Russian oil refineries that have been targeted by drone attacks.
Against this backdrop, gasoline and diesel prices have increased in Kyrgyzstan. Some filling stations have experienced shortages of AI 95 gasoline and diesel fuel.
