Addressing healthcare sector representatives, Ulan Mamatkanov noted that protecting public health, improving the quality of medical services and ensuring citizens have access to essential medicines are among the government’s priorities.

«In recent years, the country’s economy has demonstrated steady growth, expanding the state’s financial capacity. Economic growth should be reflected in the quality of life of every citizen. The healthcare system is also undergoing systematic work to develop domestic pharmaceutical production, build up necessary stocks of medicines and improve mechanisms for their procurement and delivery,» he said.

The deputy head of the Cabinet highlighted the positive growth of Kyrgyzstan’s pharmaceutical industry. In 2025, pharmaceutical production in the country increased 1.7-fold.

«Our task is to consolidate this positive trend and bring the domestic pharmaceutical industry to a new level. We need to attract investment and modern technologies, expand production and gradually reduce dependence on imports,» Ulan Mamatkanov said, stressing the need to establish an integrated pharmaceutical supply chain from producer to patient and highlighting the special role of Kyrgyzfarmatsiya in this process.

As part of the ceremony, 12 specialized vehicles were handed over to Kyrgyzfarmatsiya to expand its logistics capacity and ensure the timely delivery of medicines to medical facilities, including those in remote regions.

Six of the 12 specialized vehicles were provided to Kyrgyzfarmatsiya by the president. Before the state enterprise established its own vehicle fleet, a significant share of transportation was carried out by private transport companies.

Ulan Mamatkanov also emphasized the healthcare system’s special responsibility in the upcoming period, as Kyrgyzstan will host the VI World Nomad Games from August 31 to September 6, as well as high-level international events as part of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

«During these days, Kyrgyzstan will receive a large number of foreign delegations, athletes and visitors. Events of this scale require a high level of preparedness and coordinated work by all government agencies. The healthcare system must be fully prepared,» he stressed.
