The lyceum is designed for 360 students. The project includes a 410-bed dormitory, accommodation for teachers, laboratories, a library, a 25-meter swimming pool, a sports hall and a stadium.

Initially, the estimated cost of the project exceeded 2.1 billion soms, while the construction cost per square meter was estimated at $1,103.

Following a revision of the project, the cost per square meter was reduced to $750, while the total estimated cost was cut to 1.7 billion soms. According to the ministry, this resulted in savings of 443.5 million soms.

Construction and installation work at the site is currently nearing completion.

The Akylman Presidential Lyceum was established in 2023 to provide education for gifted children from across Kyrgyzstan. The first such institution opened in Cholpon-Ata. Tuition, accommodation and meals are provided free of charge, with admission based on a competitive selection process.

Starting from the new academic year, branches of the lyceum are expected to begin operating in Manas and Talas.
