The first social facility connected to the system is a school in the high-mountain village of Enilchek in Issyk-Kul region.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the school previously lacked internet access due to its difficult geographic location and the lack of terrestrial communications infrastructure.
During the ceremony, Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated the students and teachers on the launch of satellite internet and donated five modern computers to the school.
He stated that ensuring equal access to education and digital technologies remains a state priority.
«Today, access to modern technologies is opening up even to the most remote corners of our mountainous republic,» the Cabinet Chairman noted.
According to him, only six schools in hard-to-reach areas in the Kyrgyz Republic currently lack internet access. The authorities cite their connection as the next priority.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also instructed the Ministry of Education to integrate the Enilchek school into all state information systems and digital educational platforms.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported that, from May 23, Kyrgyzstan officially entered the active coverage zone on the global Starlink map. ElCat, the local partner for the project, provided the technical infrastructure.
The pilot project is being implemented under the Presidential Decree on the implementation of non-geostationary satellite systems, signed in October 2025.
The government emphasized that the project is also open to other satellite internet operators, provided they meet security and legal requirements.
