I am convinced that the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the work of the UN Security Council will help promote the principles of mutual respect, equal dialogue and collective search for solutions to pressing international problems, which is consistent with the goals and objectives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

I wish you good health and further success in your government activities, and peace, prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of the Kyrgyz Republic!» the telegram says.

For the first time in its history, Kyrgyzstan was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. The republic will be part of one of the main bodies of the international organization in 2027-2028.

The vote took place on June 3 at a meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York. At least 142 states voted for the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Philippines, which competed for a seat on the Security Council, received 49 votes.
