Another human rights activist, Dinara Oshurakhunova, stated that her colleague had been under surveillance.

«They followed her all day yesterday, tracking her movements. The world awards her prizes for her achievements in human rights protection, while our police are hunting her!» Dinara Oshurakhunova wrote, addressing a question to the president about the reasons behind the incident.

In her recent social media posts, Aziza Abdirasulova reported that she received a phone call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a State Committee for National Security officer and threatened her. She later wrote that the deputy head of the Nooken district police department had also contacted her.

The reasons for her detention and her current procedural status have not been officially disclosed.

At the end of 2024, Abdirasulova stated that she had been forced to leave Kyrgyzstan due to threats. She returned to the country nearly a year later.
