The film was presented at the Marché du Film in Cannes, where it attracted the attention of international distributors, studios, and the professional community.

The film was directed by Kazakh director Aitore Zholdaskali. He co-wrote the script with Adilkhan Yerzhanov, a two-time participant of Cannes Film Festival official selection.

The film tells the story of four inseparable street thieves: Roco, Lulu, Jax, and Rein. During a botched heist, Roco accidentally activates an ancient artifact, sending Lulu through a portal to the underworld. The heroes must navigate a Tibetan temple and feudal Japan to reclaim what was lost, while Roco himself gradually begins to lose his human form.
