Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Syinaliev and Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Eri Arfiya signed exchange notes and a grant agreement on the provision of non-repayable assistance. The grant amounts to 533 million yen (approximately $4 million).

According to the Finance Ministry’s press service, the funds will be used to purchase road and transport equipment. This will help modernize the country’s technical capacity and improve the efficiency of work to develop and upgrade Kyrgyzstan’s transport infrastructure.

The sides also discussed further cooperation in healthcare, energy, support for small and medium-sized businesses, urban transport and digitalization.

Particular attention was also paid to the JDS scholarship program, which marks its 20th anniversary of work in Kyrgyzstan in 2026.
