«A new alternative road to the airport is currently being built. To widen the road, we are forced to cut down some trees. The arborvitaes growing along the road are being replanted. However, some poplars located in the roundabout construction zone cannot be replanted, so they have to be cut down,» the company’s press service stated.

They noted that the work is being carried out to address traffic congestion on the approach to the airport. Only one small section is being cleared.

According to the company, passenger traffic is increasing due to the construction of a new airport terminal, which is also leading to an increase in the number of people meeting and seeing off passengers.

«Many people complain about traffic jams on the way to the airport. To increase the road’s capacity and avoid congestion, we are widening it. Therefore, it is necessary to remove some trees,» the company explained.

Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC urged residents and social media users to consider the reasons for the ongoing work when discussing the situation.
