According to her, similar experiments have already been conducted in a number of countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Japan, Iceland, Australia, Kazakhstan, and Lithuania. According to Salyanova, the results showed that shortening the workweek did not lead to a decrease in efficiency, and in some cases, contributed to increased productivity.

«At Microsoft Japan, electricity consumption decreased by 23 percent, and productivity increased by 40 percent. Printing costs decreased by 60 percent. This is because more attention was paid to digitalization and time management. In countries and organizations that have implemented such experiments, people have reduced their sick leave. They get more rest, have more time for self-education, hobbies, and family, and as a result, their interest in work and its effectiveness increase,» the former Prosecutor General listed the positive changes.

However, not all workers in all sectors are suited to a four-day workweek, Salyanova believes.

In her opinion, implementing such a regime is difficult in healthcare, education, transportation, and continuous-cycle manufacturing.
