According to the statement, the facility was inspected by Presidential Special Representative for Special Assignments Bakyt Torobaev.

At the current pace, excavation of the tunnel is expected to be completed within 20 days. The builders will then begin concreting and installing the necessary engineering infrastructure.

Commissioning the Ak-Terek canal will increase the amount of irrigation water available for agricultural land in the rural districts surrounding the town of Kerben.

A Kyzyl-Alma reservoir is also under construction in the district. It will allow an additional 2,200 hectares of irrigated land to be brought into agricultural use. In total, it is planned to provide stable irrigation to more than 4,000 hectares of agricultural land.
