According to the data, wheat shipments increased 4.5-fold, from 39,369 tonnes worth more than $8 million to 178,968 tonnes valued at $39,065 million.

Russia now accounts for 76.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total wheat imports, which amounted to 234,098 tonnes.

Kazakhstan, which was the leading supplier last year, currently ranks second, having exported 55,131 tonnes worth $12.604 million.

Overall, the value of Russian exports to Kyrgyzstan from January through May amounted to $1.39 billion.
