Special attention was paid to the documents signed during Kobakhidze’s visit to Kyrgyzstan. According to the ministry, they create the basis for expanding partnerships between the two countries in various fields.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the field of security at the bilateral and regional levels: practical cooperation, exchange of experience and joint counteraction to modern threats.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the interaction between government bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia is aimed at strengthening security and stability, and the meeting was the next step in the development of Kyrgyzstan — Georgia cooperation.

In Tbilisi, Niyazbekov also met with the Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the fight against transnational organized crime, fraud, drug trafficking and other modern threats. The parties discussed the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Kyrgyzstan engaged in business in Georgia, as well as interaction in the search for persons on the interstate and international wanted list.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan noted Georgia’s experience in reforming the law enforcement system, digitalization and increasing the accessibility of public services. Niyazbekov expressed his readiness to study and apply effective practices.

At the meeting, the reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out in Kyrgyzstan were presented. In particular, they discussed the development of the Safe Country project, the introduction of modern technical means and the strengthening of the department’s material and technical base.

Following the event, the parties expressed their readiness to continue interaction and develop cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries.
