According to preliminary data, the epicenter was located in Kyrgyzstan — 22 kilometers northeast of the village of Kara-Sai and 53 kilometers southeast of Barskoon.

In the village of Kara-Sai, the earthquake was felt at a magnitude of approximately 2.5.

No casualties or damage were reported.
