Kasymaliev identified food security as one of the key issues. Rising global food prices and continued inflationary pressures create risks of social tensions.
«This work needs to be continued and strengthened,» he said, calling on the Eurasian Economic Commission to more actively monitor agricultural markets and respond promptly to possible shortages and price increases.
The Cabinet Chairman also highlighted the need to increase the EAEU’s attractiveness for businesses and citizens. In his view, common markets should serve as the foundation for the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor.
Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of an agreement allowing brokers and dealers from member states to participate in organized exchange trading. According to him, the document will expand financial market participants’ access to the infrastructure of EAEU countries and increase investment activity.
Speaking about digital trade, Kasymaliev stressed the need for unified rules for the platform economy.
«Modern digital commerce should become our internal driver of growth. The absence of common supranational rules may lead to the emergence of cross-border barriers and an imbalance between the interests of the state, business, and citizens,» he said.
The head of government also noted the importance of an agreement on the mutual recognition of academic degree documents. According to him, the document will contribute to the formation of a common scientific and technological space within the EAEU. In the transition to a knowledge-based economy, the competitiveness of states increasingly depends on human capital, scientific research, and modern technologies.
Kasymaliev believes it is necessary to develop academic mobility, scientific cooperation, and the training of highly qualified specialists, as well as to integrate science with industry.
He also noted the expansion of the EAEU’s trade ties with third countries. Over the past two years, the union has signed free trade agreements with Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia. These agreements complement existing ones with Vietnam, Iran, Serbia, and China.
At the same time, according to the Cabinet Chairman, the expansion of foreign trade should be accompanied by stronger competitiveness of the EAEU economies themselves. He also stressed the need to make financing mechanisms for cooperation projects more accessible for countries with smaller economies.
Summing up, Kasymaliev emphasized that EAEU decisions should have a practical impact on businesses and citizens.
«The goal remains unchanged — the EAEU should become a self-sufficient and harmoniously developed pole of a multipolar world based on energy security, food security, and transport connectivity,» he said.
According to Adylbek Kasymaliev, achieving this goal requires
«fewer statements and more real projects, fewer barriers and more mutual trust.»
