According to the source, a preliminary schedule for the parliament’s work during the first weeks of September has already been drawn up.

«The first session will be held on September 2. Then, on September 9, some Cabinet members will take the oath. And on September 17, we will adopt a resolution at a regular session,» the source said.

The resolution in question concerns the Zhogorku Kenesh setting the date for the regular presidential election in Kyrgyzstan.

Thus, the issue of launching the presidential election campaign is expected to be considered not at an extraordinary, but at a regular parliamentary session on September 17.

The source noted that the timing complies with legal requirements, under which the Zhogorku Kenesh must adopt a decision to schedule the election no later than four months before election day.

A day earlier, Central Election Commission Chairman Tynchtyk Shainazarov told 24.kg news agency that he had proposed September 17 to Parliament as the date for the decision.
